A move to Arizona in early 1983, to hone the carpentry skills started six years eariler, is what began the journey into the tile trade. The custom home builder I worked for not only framed, and did the finish carpentry, but also installed the tile. The basic method used then, is still common practice now. The move back to Wisconsin two years later, opened the door for what is now Tilemybacksplash, LLC. And some of the “common practice” used then, I no longer use. The most notable change is in the method used for the control of moisture in tub areas and showers. We are very pleased, as of 2007, to offer the Schluter shower system method.
